Q: I love Artichokes. I buy them canned or frozen to keep in the house. (once in a while fresh) Do the "bottoms" (which slice up nicely) have as much fiber as the "hearts?" Thank you!!!!

The stems of artichokes are extensions of the heart, which means they are full of rich, meaty flavor as well as a similar nutrient content to the artichoke heart, with the exception of fiber. The fiber content tends to be slightly less in the bottom of the artichoke when compared to the heart, but it is still a source of fiber.
