Long-Stem Artichokes are as much a visual delight as they are a tasty treat. These beautiful Artichokes are an Ocean Mist Farms specialty. The company’s expert harvesters take pride in searching for the “king,” or largest chokes, that grow at the top and center of the huge Artichoke plant. Each is cut with a stem that measures approximately nine inches.

Long-Stem Artichokes make for an elegant presentation, whether displayed in a food dish or arranged, uncooked, in a floral presentation (don’t forget, the Artichoke is a flower). One of the great things about Long-Stem Artichokes is that their long, thick stems are full of rich, meaty flavor, as it is an extension of the Artichoke heart. Because the stems are extremely thick, they need to be peeled like a carrot of their rough, fiber exterior before cooking.

  • Use as low-carb ingredient in place of potatoes.
