Asparagus: Serving Tips & Recipes |
The purist's way to enjoy the rich flavor of Ocean Mist Asparagus is to steer clear of heavy cream or butter sauces. Serve instead with a light
seasoning, such as lemon juice, mustard sauce, or herbs such as dill, or simple olive oil, and salt and pepper.
| |
Asparagus is also great as a cold first course, with a light vinaigrette.
| |
Asparagus can also be blanched and then chopped or sliced, and added to a tossed green salad.
| |
Leftover Asparagus is perfect for making a low-fat cream of Asparagus soup.
| |
You can also cut the spears into shorter lengths, cook and include in pasta dishes or casseroles, or in a medley with other vegetables.
| |
For unique flavor, put Asparagus in a zip bag with olive oil and salt. Shake until the spears are covered and place on baking sheet. Roast in the oven
for about 7 minutes. Enjoy plain or serve with light vinaigrette.
| |
For a crispy side dish or warm appetizer, roast as above. Two minutes before spears are done, sprinkle shaved parmesan cheese over them
and let the cheese melt. Drizzle spears with balsamic vinegar before serving.
| |
For an even more robust flavor, brush blanched spears with olive oil, salt and pepper, and finish off on the grill.

Asparagus is great with seafood. Try adding spears to soft-shelled crab sandwiches or cut into bite-size pieces and add to a risotto.
