The blossoms, leaves and stalks of the Rapini/Broccoli Rabe are all edible, and feature identical taste levels. Rapini/Broccoli Rabe has a pungent flavor that once sampled can become addictive. Commonly known in the United States as Broccoli Raab (also spelled Broccoli Rabe), it is revered in China and is Hong Kong’s most popular vegetable. Rapini/Broccoli Rabe has a slightly bitter taste and is frequently steamed or lightly sautéed in olive oil. Its strong flavor makes it a perfect complement to milder foods, like polenta.
