Home for the (Easter) Holidays

Mini-Frittatas-Artichoke-Easter-Brunch

Since being in quarantine, I can’t help but chuckle when I ask or am asked “What are you doing this weekend?”

Weekends now consist of doing possibly everything yet a whole lot of nothing at the same time! Maybe you're dusting off that instrument you always wanted to learn? Cooking up a perfect storm in the kitchen (we know you’re making new artichoke recipes like this one to the nth degree 😉)?

...Or maybe you're trying to master the perfectly cooked artichoke our Gold Standard way? (Side note: our Gold Standard promotion and ✨giveaway✨ starts next week so this is rather fitting!)

Hey, anything goes…with stretchy pants!

But this weekend will be particularly unique being Easter, for many the first major holiday in quarantine where traditions are just...different! Maybe you already know how you'll be celebrating virtually, but if you don't have a response to the "What are you doing this weekend?" question yet, we have 4 ideas to make your last-minute Easter video-conference gathering around the computer a little more special!

  1.  Cook Together

Part of the fun of any holiday gathering is grazing around the table while someone else is cooking your favorite recipe, isn't it? Let's throw that idea out the window completely and get everyone on your video-conference gathering involved!

Pick a recipe, send the ingredient list as soon as possible, measure and prep everything ahead of your virtual get-together, and lead everyone through the steps of this favorite recipe on Easter morning. Keep it simple, this recipe will help you out! 😊

  1. On-Screen Easter Egg Hunt

Okay, hear us out. It sounds cheesy but it’s in times like this that we really need to lean into it, especially for the kids in the group! It could be as simple as hiding an Easter egg in the viewfinder to see who finds it first.

My colleague Diana and her family are going to take it a step further for the 5-year-old in their group and virtually pass her the egg through the viewfinder. Her mom will then award her with an Easter basket to keep her busy with toys while the rest of their family catches up on quarantine life.

  1. Play Up the Zoom Background

Decorations aren’t at the front of your mind these days, but it doesn’t mean your Zoom background needs to suffer! Get yours uploaded and ready to go—learn how to do it here and make your own custom background here.

No, this isn't sponsored or affiliated with Zoom in any way, it's just a platform that works pretty well!

  1. Have a picnic in your Sunday Best

Make it a picnic set-up in your living room wearing your Sunday Best…pajamas! Maybe you’ll stream your local church service first. Just be sure to keep your zoom set-up ready, the remote in-hand, and your morning coffee or afternoon crudite board within reach!

Remember, make sure you practice getting the set-up right before Sunday so there aren't any unwanted Easter surprises 😏! So now let me ask you that question- "What are your plans for this Easter weekend?" We'd love to hear from you!
