National Barbecue Month
For me and my family, truly any day is a Barbecue Day. Fewer dishes to clean up and less commotion in the kitchen. Plus if the weather is cooperating, al fresco dining is just plain relaxing. May is National Barbecue Month, so for the rest of the world that doesn't Barbecue all the time, keep reading for some fresh grilling inspiration!
Over the years we have found many tried and true favorites that highlight our Ocean Mist Farms vegetables. These recipes take out the guesswork so you can focus on relaxing and eating delicious food with friends and family.
One of my favorites is this Grilled Artichokes with Pineapple & Mango Salsa recipe, which will instantly transport you to the tropics. The colorful fruit salsa makes this a wonderful crowd-pleasing dish that could not be easier to make.
Or, if you're just starting out - get the hang of grilling your artichokes with our Easy Grilled Artichokes recipe, and then take them to the next level with some grilled lemon, like in our Lemon Grilled Artichokes. Here's a Pro Tip: Cook your fresh artichokes ahead of time. I use my Instant Pot. Cut the cooled artichokes in half, scoop out the choke, put them in a plastic bag, then pop them in the fridge to use during the week. You can even freeze them if it will be awhile before you fire up the grill!
You certainly can't have a barbecue without some delicious meats, which is why we love these Grilled Brussels Sprouts and Smokey Sausage Appetizer Kabobs. The sausages pair perfectly with our Season and Steam Brussels Sprouts - it's a simple trick to make sure everything is ready to serve at the same time!
Smoky Brussels Sprouts get a sweet pairing in our Harvest Grill Basket, which can be enjoyed any time of year as a colorful side dish or for a hearty Meatless Monday option. It's so simple to throw together!
I hope these recipes encourage you to get outside, invite your friends over, and make the most of National Barbecue Month. Cheers!
