Summer Savory Dishes
While salads are a little more in demand during the summer months, I also enjoy a balance of heartier meals that still feel light. I've rounded up a few tried and true savory summer recipes that are packed with flavor and fill you up without feeling too heavy.
Anything with the word muffin in it is a winner in my book, and I love any recipe that involves putting ingredients into a baking pan and letting the oven work its magic. I don't think muffins are often synonymous with summertime, but these savory artichoke muffins are a great add-on to a light brunch or entrée and are a great afternoon snack when those carb cravings kick in.
Lighter, brighter white wines are a refreshing choice in summer. Plus they are a classic cooking ingredient and work great with these wine-braised Artichokes. They almost look too delicious to eat and add a bit of French sophistication to a summer meal.
This five-minute dish is an absolute must on the weekly dinner menu. It's simple, light, and full of flavor and pairs great with grilled chicken or steak. The recipe calls for our Season & Steam whole Brussels, but you can just as easily sub in our Brussels Sprouts Quick Cook halves for a smaller bite.
Instant Pot Artichokes with White Wine, Capers & Burrata
Capers are somewhat underappreciated in my mind. in this dish, the saltiness of the capers pairs quite nicely with the creamy Burrata. I love when you have a variety of flavor profiles within a dish that mesh together perfectly!
When you're craving classic Asian flavors for dinner, but also trying to watch that summer waistline, this recipe is your go-to. The versatility of Cauliflower rice really shines in this recipe. Sautéed with a variety of veggies in Chinese five-spice seasoning, you will be surprised just how well it satisfies that hankering for Chinese take-out.
