You know and love Artie the Artichoke, but his world is about to be shaken up for the summer with a new girl in town... introducing Viola, the foreign exchange student from Italy whose purple color is all too familiar. Here's what you need to know about this new summer romance:
Viola just hopped off the bus and bumped right in to Artie... can you say love at first sight? She's come to visit the very place her ancestors planted roots in the late 1800's. California provided the perfect Mediterranean climate for them to flourish, and she still has cousins living in the area today. When she heard of the opportunity to come and study the latest in sustainable agriculture practices at none other than Ocean Mist Farms, she knew it would be the perfect time to visit family and learn about her heritage.
When Artie heard of Viola's reason for visiting, he jumped at the chance to be her personal tour guide. He even shared with her some stories of her relatives' early days of farming. Their beautiful purple hue made them unmistakably distinct to the native varieties in the area, and soon became the most well-known and loved family to their community.
There's no doubt there are some sparks flying between Artie and Viola as their summer romance blooms. But will that be all it is when Viola returns home at the end of summer?
