Farming Intern:
Support farming operations by monitoring field conditions, assisting with planting schedules, evaluating variety trials, and managing equipment inventory. Interns will also use GPS tools to confirm field site locations and prepare planting reports.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an agricultural or related degree.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with GPS tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and outdoor exposure.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs without undue physical exertion.
- Work in varying weather conditions.
Food Safety Quality Assurance Intern:
Assist in food safety and quality assurance tasks such as updating supplier lists, conducting facility inspections, performing audits, and developing sanitation protocols. Interns will gain experience in GMP practices, root cause analysis, and USDA quality standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a food science, microbiology, or related program.
- Basic understanding of HACCP and GMP practices.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Physical Demands:
- Combination of office and fieldwork.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during inspections.
- Lifting of light equipment or samples as needed.
Engineering Intern:
Work closely with the engineer and farm operations teams to improve harvesting machinery and update layouts using CAD tools. Interns will conduct equipment measurements, process flow analysis, and product research.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands:
- Walking, standing, and working around machinery.
- Lifting up to 40 lbs without undue physical exertion.
- Exposure to outdoor environments.
Harvest Forecast Intern:
Support forecasting efforts by collecting and analyzing data on crop yields, weather patterns, and soil health. Interns will participate in harvesting operations and post-harvest processes.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree focus in agriculture, environmental science, or related fields.
- Analytical mindset with an interest in data modeling.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands:
- Fieldwork in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs without undue physical exertion.
- Walking and standing for extended periods.
Accounting Intern:
Assist in accounts receivable/payable, production costing, financial reconciliation, and monthly close procedures. Gain experience with financial reporting, data analysis, and inventory management.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or business.
- Strong numerical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial systems.
Physical Demands:
- Primarily office-based work.
- Light lifting for filing or document organization.
Cooling Operations Intern:
Analyze cold room storage utilization for CHEP and wood pallets. Use warehouse management tools to optimize space and maximize efficiency in cooler operations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree focus in logistics, supply chain, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and data management tools.
Physical Demands:
- Combination of office and cooler facility work.
- Ability to work in cold storage environments.
Information Technology Intern:
Provide technical support for hardware setup, troubleshooting, and documentation. Assist with IT projects and inventory management while gaining exposure to helpdesk operations in the agriculture industry.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an IT or computer science program.
- Familiarity with hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands:
- Office-based with occasional physical tasks like setting up equipment.
