APPOINTMENT LOADING COORDINATOR - OCEAN MIST FARMS, CASTROVILLE, CA

The Appointment Loading Coordinator plays both a critical and dynamic role which provides a high level of customer service support to our sales team and external logistics partners. This position will assist in growing and maintaining customer accounts by ensuring data integrity, accurate and timely communication, setting appointments and monitoring customer shipments by performing the following duties. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Track and manage loads in Famous, ensuring all relevant data is correct.
  • Manage activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle, including arranging transportation, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand, to make sure established deadlines are met
  • Systemically review freight costs, and transportation rates to keep costs down, where possible
  • Direct contact between internal Sales, Product Coordinators and Shipping departments
  • Direct contact with external carriers and customers
  • Supports Commodity Managers & Sales Department
  • Communicate transportation, availability, inventory, order fulfillment and other unforeseen situations that arise to the Commodity Managers and Sales department.
  • Update Sales and Logistics teams with any disrupting changes regarding order or appointment interruptions
  • Manage daily sales volume needs including reviewing inventories, product rotation, carryover, claims reduction and customer service goals
  • Assists to coordinate and communicate with the Sales assuring sales orders align with production and advises when contrary actions are needed.
  • Must be available on call evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associates (2 year) degree minimum; Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Business, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of agriculture business, produce sales, order fulfillment, and/or production management preferred.
  • 3 years' experience in office or produce environment is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred but not required.
  • Intermediate or greater skills with Windows, Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word required. Previous experience with Famous a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. As well as good phone etiquette.
  • High energy level with strong inter-personal skills.
  • Self-starter, multi-task oriented, works well independently and acts on own initiative.
  • Ability to accept responsibility, make competent decisions independently and thrive in a cooperative team environment.
  • Ability to work in a professional, confident manner.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective time management skills are necessary to ensure a high level of quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • May be required to seasonally travel.
