The Harvest Foreperson is responsible for the supervision of the harvest crew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct supervision of assigned crew. Oversees all aspects of the harvesting and packing operation of the product in the field, ensuring that an efficient and acceptable performance is carried out.
Instructs employees in appropriate work performance methods, with an emphasis on quality.
Maintains daily timesheets and packing information and presents them to the supervisor. Issue payroll checks to employees every Friday of the work week.
Provide the harvest supervisor with packaging updates as requested. Maintain accurate daily packing totals for selected blocks and ranches.
Monitor food quality and safety as instructed by the harvest supervisor and Ocean Mist Farms quality control department staff.
Conduct counseling and disciplinary processes with employees and follow the direction of the supervisor in accordance with company policies. Report all disciplinary actions to the supervisor, preparing all documentation and requesting assistance when necessary.
Conduct and document weekly all safety training and work meetings.
Keep the driver's license for work vehicles updated and current.
Continuous business trips to company facilities or others according to the request of the management.
Advocate and represent the Ocean Mist Farms label and the organization by always trying to produce the most desirable and highest quality products, trying to do so at the lowest possible cost.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
High school graduate or an equivalent.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a foreperson.
Valid class C California driver’s license.
Recurring travel to all harvesting areas as the harvesting operations require.
