The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring Ocean Mist Foods meets production goals by managing production schedules, quality standards and production processes. This individual will supervise to ensure all finished goods are produced with the standards established regarding safety, quality and cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
  • Strive to improve all facets of operations including production efficiency, quality, workplace safety, environmental consciousness and reduction of product waste/shrink
  • Will be the point person for Famous Software and train your team as needed
  • Identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolve issues
  • Maintain timely, accurate input and verification of all data entry into RedZone
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Assist in food safety documentation to new Safety Chain System. Will train other users and maintain database
  • Oversee equipment monitoring, quality assurance inspections and sanitation activities
  • Perform daily estimates for raw and finished product
  • Communicate with field and sales personnel to ensure production goals are met
  • Provides coverage for Plant Manager when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent food production experience
  • Safety and sanitation certifications
  • At least 5 years of operational management experience with a minimum of 2 years in food production or processing required
  • Knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP, GAP and Food Safety
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to frequently communicate with employees and/or external customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Proficient working knowledge of Famous, Excel and Word; office equipment to be used (not inclusive list): telephone, computer keyboard, photocopy machine, fax, 10-key calculator by touch, postage meter and other clerical and office equipment
  • A bilingual skillset in English and Spanish is required, with the ability to communicate, read & write proficiently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to carry out defined procedures with specific instructions
  • Ability to manage a project from its initiation to completion with minimal supervision
  • A valid California driver’s license (class C) required and must be insurable
