The Ranch Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and construction of fences and structures to secure the ranch property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fence Maintenance, Repair, and Construction:
  • Regularly inspect existing fences to identify any damage, wear, or weaknesses
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tightening wires, replacing boards, T-Posts, and fixing loose posts to ensure fences remain sturdy and effective
  • Promptly repair any damage caused by weather, wildlife, or other external factors to prevent breaches in the fence line
  • Collaborate with the ranch manager or supervisor to plan and execute the construction of new fences as needed

Implementing Security Measures:

  • Install and maintain gates, locks, and other security features to control access to the ranch property
  • Monitor and update access codes for electronic gates or key systems
  • Advise the ranch management on improvements to enhance the overall security of the property

Pest Deterrence:

  • Ensure deterrent measures
  • Monitor and report any signs of pest activity to the ranch management team
  • Assist in the physical pest removal from property as needed

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain detailed records of projects for tracking and reporting purposes (i.e. Food Safety Logs, Ranch Maintenance Logs)
  • Report completed tasks and ongoing projects to the ranch manager or supervisor regularly


  • Keep concrete roads and rock trails clear of small/medium sized debris
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Ranch Manager

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Valid California Driver’s License, Class C, be insurable and ability to operate a company vehicle is required
  • The ability to understand and carry out oral instructions
  • Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with others
  • Must be able to accept corrective criticism from supervisor
  • Must be willing to take on a variety of assignments as assigned by management on an as-needed basis within the department and within other areas of the ranch if necessary
