SHOP ASSISTANT - CASTROVILLE, CA

The Shop Assistant is responsible for assisting the parts department, as well as the mechanics in the shop. This position will also clean the shop and conduct forklift inspections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleans the shop and maintains the workspace.
• Supports the parts department in conducting parts runs using company vehicle.
• Responsible for waste management and picking up the garbage using a forklift.
• Conducts forklift inspections daily.
• Conducts hazardous waste tank disposal of inspections.
• Maintains the work orders.
• Responsible for maintaining the pressure washers.
• As needed, assists in dropping off/picking up vehicles at the dealership.
• Supports the mechanics in washing the equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• 1 year of previous experience preferred.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license required, minimum Class C.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must have working knowledge of standard Windows programs and Adobe Acrobat.
• Have the willingness and ability to follow safety guidelines and work safety around equipment with other personnel.
• Must be able to communicate and work with supervisor, warehouse personnel, co-workers, office, and field personnel.
• Must be detail-orientated; ability to listen and follow directions accurately.
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
