Selection Tips
- The best cardone stalks are a grey-green color.
- Stalks should feel heavy and moist. They will not be crisp like celery.
Storage and Handling
- Place cardone in the crisper section of your refrigerator wrapped in plastic for about five to seven days. Cut them in half for easier storage.
- Ocean Mist Farms trims the outer stalks in the field, so you may notice slight discoloration on the outside and the ends of the stalk. Leaves should be soft and pale, grey-green in color.
- Rinse the stalks well, trim the ends and remove strings from the big stalks. Remove any small leaves that run up the center of the stalks.
