On this Earth Day, we are particularly grateful for the nearly 100 years of privilege stewarding our land. I've always thought that Farmers are the original stewards of the land, as they must take care of this natural resource to ensure both their livelihood and legacy.
For Ocean Mist Farms, we take this responsibility seriously, and are continually evaluating our sustainability practices. We share these practices openly with our shoppers to teach you about what goes into growing Gold Standard fresh produce. One of the ways we do this is through our extensive video library. Today, in honor of Earth day, I'm sharing one of my favorites videos with you.

Because of the unique challenge we face with California's water supply, we are part of a 12,000 acre-irrigation district where we thoroughly cleanse and re-purpose water for our crops. In addition, 90% of the company’s crops are watered through drip irrigation (which is 70%+ more efficient than sprinkler irrigation), decreasing not only raw water usage, run-off, and seawater intrusion, but also reducing electrical and labor needs - collectively resulting in greater production efficiency.
