Santa's Little Helpers

Written by Ocean Mist Farms. | December 16, 2020

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is having the whole family in the kitchen. When my kids were growing up, our traditions centered around festive food during the holidays even from a young age. If you ask me, it's the best time of year to get your kids excited about being in the kitchen. Here are a few places to start!

Brussels Sprout and Sausage Skewers

Make cooking a craft with these Brussels sprouts and sausage skewers. This hands-on dish doesn't require a lot of chopping or cooking with heat, making it an ideal meal for even the little ones to help with. Make them extra festive by adding decorative toppers!

Cheesy Mac N Sprouts

Mac N' Cheese is a kid classic, but often doesn't contain much nutritional value. Get your kids to "decorate" the pasta with a few sneaky Brussels sprouts and they may just be less likely to fuss about eating their greens!

Fall Fennel, Apple & Cheese Panini

This dish is perfect for the older kids. The addition of fennel to this panini is an easy way to get them to branch out with new flavors with the safety net of delicious crusty bread and melted cheese. See what other ways you can elevate a sandwich with your favorite veggies!
