Tis the Season... for the Apples

Written by Ocean Mist Farms. | December 22, 2021

This holiday season, we are diving in headfirst and bobbing for apples! Apples are a great fruit for the holidays and they pair beautifully with Brussels Sprouts & Fennel, from Ocean Mist Farms of course! You can spice them up and make a warm & cozy meal or you can make a light and refreshing dish. Of course, apple pie is a delicious sweet favorite, but for this post, I'm showing off 4 delicious sweet & savory dishes that are the perfect side or appetizer for your holiday spread. 🍎

SuperShreds Apple & Bacon Salad

Starting off with this delicious and simple Apple & Bacon Salad using Season & Steam SuperShreds Brussels Sprouts. Our Season & Steam SuperShreds are pre-shredded, making this salad as simple as can be. Similar to a Caesar salad, this recipe has crispy bacon and creamy Caesar dressing with a touch of sweetness from a crisp red apple. I don't know about you, but this salad is speaking to me. 🍃

Apple Glazed Brussels Sprouts

Nothing says holiday more than these apple glazed Brussels Sprouts. I eat Brussels Sprouts year-round, but something about glazed Brussels makes me crave the holiday season! These have a nutty flavor from the roasted pecans. The butter and cinnamon seal the deal making this dish a must this season. 👨‍🍳

Fall Fennel, Apple & Cheddar cheese Panini

Holiday foods can be the best part of the year, but they can also be overwhelming and filling. This Fennel, Apple, & Cheddar Panini is the perfect after holiday lunch that is light and simple. You can also add in your leftover meats from the holiday. On crispy sourdough bread, this recipe makes the perfect crisp bite. 🧀

Apple- Cranberry Brussels Sprouts Medley

Yet another one of my favorite combinations: Brussels Sprouts and cinnamon. This Apple-cranberry Brussels Sprouts Medley is the ultimate appetizer or side dish to any holiday meal. Whether you are serving roasted chicken or prime rib, this medley pairs well with both. Bon Appetite!
