Things are Different Now

First things first: I want to share how honored I am to be working in the agriculture industry. I want to give thanks to our teams that continue to work daily to plant, cultivate, harvest and deliver fresh produce, which includes ALL of the people we have featured in our Employee Spotlight series. Like Sergio Oliva from the IT team helping us to work from home; Glen Alameda with the Logistics Team keeping the truck appointment and loading process running smoothly; and Harvest Team Members, like Art Munoz.

I also want to offer thanks to our industry associations, which are supporting our operations, helping us to manage this unprecedented situation, and advocating for the business sectors like Food Service that have been dramatically impacted by COVID-19. 

In California, we have been practicing mandatory Shelter-in-Place for a little over two weeks. It's slowly becoming the new normal, but working from home, shopping online for the most basic staples only to find them out of stock, and conscientiously planning less-frequent trips to the grocery store to purchase fresh items has become our new normal.  Meal planning is more intentional, and with my college age kids back under the roof, the nest is no longer empty and the fridge and pantry must stay full. Strange times like this certainly makes me appreciate the little things like health and nutrition now more than ever!

Artichokes are our superheroes when it comes to nutrition; full of fiber for satiety and one of the best sources of antioxidants and probiotics to boost your immune systems necessary for good health. We know that this is particularly important right now, so of course we are going to offer you a chance to win some artichokes when we launch our new artichoke promotion in mid-April!
