Selection Tips
- Look for cauliflower that has a solid white or creamy white color, with no black spots. It should also have a tightly packed head without loose or spreading florets.
- Because cauliflower is typically film-wrapped, you can examine the quality by looking for a firm base with bright green, hydrated leaves.
- Variations in head size does not affect quality or flavor.
Storage and Handling
- Store cauliflower in its wrapping in the crisper section of your refrigerator for up to five to seven days.
- Sautee and add to stir fry dishes, roast with other fresh vegetables, serve raw with dip or prepare cauliflower pizza crust.
- Cauliflower is fully cooked when it has a tender texture that can be easily pierced with a fork.
